ALPHABET SOUP - TYPEFACE

Got it on illustrator and made good progress. As I just drew it by eye, some of the descenders and ascenders were abit too thick, too long etc. So I tried to standardise it as much as I could. I found lining them all up once I drew them, and tweaking them using the guides in Illustrator was really effective as I could gauge if everything was level and the same height as the type around it and that.

I quite like it in italic, it's still quite rough and not perfectly curved in areas, I kinda like it though in a weird way, slightly imperfect.

If I get a chance I may make 2 versions, a simple and an italic version. I also want to give the typeface a name, to make it all legit and professional. Still thinking about that one though. Here's the progress so far, hopefully by tomorrow I'll have digitally illustrated all the letterforms including glyphs to a decent standard..

On the computer it's easy to do a bit of finetuning aswell, for example I increased the descender on the 'm', and added the same style descender on to the 'n' as I wanted them to be similar for aesthetic reasons. All in all, it's shaping up well and for a weeks work I'm quite chuffed with my work and the others around me on the course.
