ENGAGEMENT RING BOOKLET KNOCK UP

For the engagement ring, we all quite like the idea of a sort of hot dog fold booklet where it can be read as a little booklet, able to be picked up from a jewellers or diamond specialist as a guide to guys about to propose or interested in purchasing an engagement ring as it can be quite a confusing and expensive experience!

It'll be able to be read as a booklet and fold out into some sort of poster maybe, it'll maybe include a mixture of infographics/tips/information. It'll be to inform and educate. We're still early stages yet and for the progress crit decided to just discuss ideas and see what seems the strongest. Here's my really scribbly knock up to help get an idea of how it may look.

The 'hot dog' fold booklet, once folded out. As you can see the two colums kind of mirror each other, one's upside down in relation to each other in terms of the content on each column. So as a poster, it wouldn't really work if folded out. The other side would though as that's not seen at all once folded into a booklet, like so..

Information on "The Four C's" Colour, Carat, Clarity and Cut.

Types of rings, average costs. glossary, tips, things to think about/ask?

Size guide at the back where you can measure rings against the circle to get a ring size as a reference for when shopping. It'd be tricky getting a ring off the girl though!

Here's the blank side of the net, this is where the poster element of the fold out would be as it's basically a blank canvas, we can do whatever we want on this side, although, how many people would really want to stick a poster about rings on their wall? That's another question that needs to be thought about it.

I really want to find out a way for a booklet to be read in order and for it to also function as a poster, with no upside down bits at weird angles. To illustrate my point, here's my poster laid flat. With all the arrows pointing right, on the below photos that basically turns into an up arrow. So look out for up arrows. If it folds and all the arrows still remain up, that means a legible poster will work as a booklet too. Let's see if it works.

Not a good start already...

Yup, up arrows

Down arrows..

Up again..

Down again. So it's basically down, up, down, up, and down.

I'll have to come back to this and think of a different way for a booklet to be able to fold out to a poster, all on the same side of paper. There must be a way, maybe with a different fold.
