TINTS/SHADES

Noticed the use of tints and shades in Illustrator just now as well, it presents it in quite a clear way. You can see that in the centre is what I'll call the 'original' colour and adding shade seems to add black to the mix and on the other hand adding tint seems to add white. This helped me understand it a bit better, it's important to remember this as it's obviously key terms people use in everyday life.
