Here are songs for each sort of stage of the wedding such as engagment, wedding day etc, pretty cool I think. Gives you an idea of just how many thousands of songs there are out there. These are the kinds of songs that are actually played at weddings, especially ones I've been to.
Even in muslim or hindu weddings, the culture is very similar and so is the celebration aspect of the wedding. It's always evolving. The languages spoken in muslim/hindu cultures are very similar so very often even though my family's not from India, I can understand Bollywood songs perfectly fine.
I speak punjabi at home, which originates from Punjab in India, before Pakistans independence, Bollywood movies are very often spoken in Hindi, which is also very similar to Urdu which is spoken in Pakistan alot. Pakistan also has it's own film industry, called..Lollywood (sigh) but it's a poor mans Bollywood to be honest. Anyways check these Bollywood songs out.

That just about wraps it up. Thanks for watching, hope it's been an interesting insight to a whole different culture and type of cinema. Bit different to British and American filmmaking eh.
One of the most famous modern day songwriters is an Indian poet called Javed Akhtar, and probably the most famous male playback singer in Indian cinema is the late Mohammad Rafi, and the most famous female playback singer is probably Lata Mangeshkar. I'll blog abit of info about all three individuals.
