Been getting a lot of requests for more audiografix posters, one that's mentioned a lot is Spanish Sahara by Foals. I thought i'd go through how I make this and approach all the audiografix posters on my blog so it's clear to see how I go about it.
Foals - Spanish Sahara
Duration = 6:50
Seconds = 410 seconds
dB readings = 410 ÷ 80 = 5.125 seconds
I'm going to manually pause the db meter and song simulatenously at 5 seconds. Obviously it might be half a second out of touch here and there but with 80 readings, roughly 5 seconds apart - it captures the flow and essence of the track nicely even if it's not that accurate.
So now I'm going to gather the data for the song. (below are 10 rows of 8). I find setting out the data in the same way as the grid on the poster is visually, with 10 rows of 8 helps me read the data off easier for each square, as I can relate the location of it a lot easier.

Lowest: 36
Highest: 93
Here's a screenshot of the decibel meter showing, in this case, the end of the song and the slow fade out and decrease in dB...
Now i'm going to apply these decibels on to the poster and that's the basic idea of it.
