HOW TO... BE A BEST MAN
As a preparation task for our new module (OUGD405) we all needed to carry out in depth research into a 'how to' in preparation for the studio brief next Monday (28/11). Everyone got a unique individual one, mine was "How to be a best man".
By in depth research it meant carrying out primary and secondary research, showing qualitative and quantitative data.
Qualitative data e.g. "He was tall."
Quantitative data e.g. "He was 6 feet tall."
Primary research is research I carry out myself, e.g. Q/A's, surveys, interviews, etc.
Secondary research is research or information from another source.
Research must be all text based and not visual, such as pictures and videos. I think first things first, I need to plan out what I'm going to research so I have a guide that I can follow until the briefing. I'm going to try and take in the wider context of being a best man and what the roll involves
- Tips on how to be a good best man
- Stag do's, memorable stag do's
- How to arrange a stag do
- Best man speeches
- Look into famous speeches and the format and themes of them
- Famous speeches from movies, the actual script itself
- How to write a good speech
- The actual role of a best man and tasks
- Traditional clothing etc for a best man
- Stories of speeches, whether to be humorous or not
- Pep talks
