At this point, I was just smashing out the first thing that came to mind for different aspects. I'll blog some of the notable ones which I'll keep in the back of my mind as I carry out more research on the subject:
- Reusable stamps
- Wooden stamps, that are reusable
- Are these more green than continuously buying stamps
- How much damage to the environment does sending letters do? Transport, materials etc?
- Isn't email a greener alternative?
- Commemorative stamps
- Possibly create stamps for a future anniversary, where recycling is cool!
- An anniversary from the past, to show what people thought the world would be like 2012, and what is has actually turned out like. Reference old visual style maybe, 2001 a space oddyssey.
- Dramatic taglines. THE WONDERS OF RECYLING! METROPOLIS! 2012 A SPACE ODDYSEY!
- Stamp guidelines, what is the 'legal' size for stamps? Can i break the mould?
- Promotional material, posters, style guide, zines, books about the campaign
- Could make a massive poster which is basically an enlarged stamp, or a set of posters for all the stamps. Laser cut the edges like a stamp?
- Hand drawn ink scenery?
- Look into energy consumption,
- Text/image or both?
- Olympic celebration. Different events different stamps
- Use colour ballet of red blue and white, like team GB
- Gradients, atmospheric stamps with big loud, optimistic text. When was the last time Olympics came to London, reference that time and style?
- See through stamps, black on see through vinyl would create an interesting effect.
- Hand drawn look, hand drawn scans? Hand drawn type?
- Queen has to be left facing towards image, but can be a silhouette
- Value of stamp needs to be included too
- Newer, younger generation of stamp collectors. Needs to have a contemporary edge to it.
