AREAS TO FIND MORE ABOUT
-------------------------------------------------
1. Positives and negative stories of combat and the warrior lifestyle, general areas within fighting to touch upon and see whether you fancy it
2. Fight club! The movie and the book. It's concepts
3. Legalised underground fight clubs? Do they exist
4. Is it possible to legislate a fight? For example, meeting up one a week to have a scrap. Aimed at working people
5. Subgenres within fighting, for example martial arts such as Kung Fu and symbols of warriors such as Samurai
6. The Bushido code of Samurai, way of living and living a life of peace and war at the same time. Research for now and enjoy it. Don't worry too much about where you're going.
7. Health benefits of fighting lifestyle. Case studies. For example the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu diet.
8. Existing similar concepts and Fight Club style ideas.
SKILLS I AS A DESIGNER WANT TO IMPROVE ON
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Screen-printing
2. Photography
3. Selling a concept and making it 'real-life' and feasible, every base is covered
4. Strong concept
5. Primary research and imagery
6. Packaging and processes
7. Analogue processes
8. Drawing and conceptualising through drawing!
WAYS TO EXPLORE IMPROVEMENTS & SKILLS THROUGH THIS BRIEF
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Visit MMA gyms and take part in more MMA classes, train like a fighter and eat like one and track how you feel
2. Screen-print a lot! About time you started and would work really well, especially for graphics on a more traditional topic such as martial arts, samurai culture etc
3. Spend less time faffing about and design and conceptualise more, especially through paper. Have a plan of action
4. Research existing perceptions and problems in order to find a clear and creative solution efficiently.
5. Use photography studios and have less leniency when crafting and photographing to have a professional standard presentation.
Task For Next Tuesday (Do this weekend):
5 examples of branding/logos which promote subjects and products under your theme.
5 examples of print that have aspects I want to explore. E.g. in terms of binding, colour, simplicity. Bring in whatever you can.
